By Water :
As matter of fact that Goa
lies on the side of Arabian sea so water transport is available and one of the
means of the transport. The catamaran service between Mumbai and Panaji,
operated by Frank Shipping, has been a bit erratic in recent years due to
breakdowns. In theory it sails between October and May. From Goa it sails every
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, departing at 10 am and arriving
in Mumbai at 5.30 pm. Going the other way, it departs Mumbai on Tuesday and
Thursday at 10 am, arriving in Panaji at 5.30 pm; on Friday, Saturday and
Sunday, it leaves Mumbai at 10.30 pm, arriving at 6.30 am. Apart from the
half-hour cruise up the Mandovi River, the trip is pretty dull as the catamaran
is obliged to stay at least 15 km from the coast to avoid fishing fleets. Water
transport is available between Panaji and Mormugao. There are motorboat, launch
and ferry services to various parts of Goa.
Local Transport :
To move around Goa, there
are local bus services operated by private bus owners and the State Undertaking
Kadamba Transport Corporation in addition to luxury coaches, mini coaches,
tourist taxis, auto rickshaws and motorcycle taxis, and cruises.
